Manuel was the main reason the game ended in a win for Germany last night. The front line in front of him was practically non-existent and he ended up playing CB more than GK. No other keeper in the world offers the skill set that he has. None.

The good: Manuel Neuer was in superman mode. I can't understand how he did not win MOTM. Probably because he's not a man. They should make an award called Superhero of the Match.

The bad: Mustafi is out for the rest of the tournament with a hamstring injury. It's only really bad from the player's perspective, because I think this boosts Germany's World Cup chances.

The ugly: Oezil scored what eventually turned out to be the winner, which means he's pretty much guaranteed to keep on playing. I wouldn't mind him all that much if he was played centrally, but he's too darn slow to play on the wings, in my opinion.

I would replace that with 'lazy and so laid back attitude'.

Conclusion: Vs France - there is no place for Howedes,Mustafi,Gotze and Ozil

I chose Khedira cause there need to be someone who can tackle hard vs the skilful French midfielders - Cabaye & Pogba

Plus, Ozil is playing on the side of Howedes making the left side a very weak link. Honestly, I didn't notice Mesut doing anything useful last night. He couldn't dribble, his passing was wrong, and was beaten easily by the Algerians when they had the ball. If that doesn't convince JLo that he should be dropped then there's no point in discussing this anymore.

I'd play Gotze instead of Ozil. You can't completely remove the "creative" players, even if they're not performing as they should be. Based on current form, Gotze is miles ahead of Ozil and should replace him with Schurrle/Podolski starting on the other side of Muller.

Yeah, it was a flu thing. I couple of pills and a bowl of soup and he'll be up and running on Friday ;)

In general, most of the standout players in this tournament were goalkeepers.

He was so many things yesterday; I'm sure spectical was amongst them, along with a few others that haven't been defined yet either.

I hope Loew learns the hard way and Pep sees Lahm should always play left back. If Loew plays the same formation against France they will be ripped open by the better Algerians.

So now Germany playing bad is Pep's fault as well?
