I don't know what to think. What squad and formation will Löw select for Brasil? Too many questions and holes have left.

The last line is looking very bad without Lahm on RB and Hummels hasn't been playing well recently, Badstuber is still out, only Mertesacker and some of youngsters like Ginter left to fit that hole.

I thought this Germany 2014 will be ready for the WC title, but at this moment I'm not sure anymore... God knows what's gonna happen. There are 3 friendly games in this year before World Cup, so I guess they'll find something.

Defense has become a problem again, but not only side backs, but also CBs. Too bad that Holger's been so long out, then we would probably watch Bads-Boa duo. Lots of question marks above Elf. :?

Schmelzer------Hummels---Boateng----------Lahm
------------------------Neuer--------------------------

I think this should 100% be Germany's defense in the WC. Lahm is playing a good role as midfielder in Bayern but the NT simply doesn't have any other reliable fullback

The big question marks should be in the remaining positions

Those plus Schweini in midfield would be a safe bet.

For the other 5 remaining spots there are at least 8-9 great players to choose from. A very difficult choice.

We are fully covered upfront. A big problem would arise if any of our defenders have form/health problems by then...

For a while, a long time ago, there raved a discussion of Özil vs Kroos. Özil was further ahead, but others (like myself) thought that Kroos had a higher ceiling.
Now Lothar Matthäus reopens the discussion by claiming he prefers Kroos to Özil for the World Cup: "If Özil is at his best, he can help, but the recent performances have raised doubts. If I compare him to those in Bayern's midfield, I think I'd rather have someone like Toni Kroos in the side than Özil." [source]

In my opinion Kroos is a couple of steps ahead now... not of just Ozil but pretty much any other player in his position.

It could be simply because he fits Bayern's tactics so well though.

I really like Hoffenheim's Brazilian born Frimino. I know he is a midfielder but I think since he has never represented Brazil he should be consider ed

I don't think anyone of the Friminos play football. I might be wrong though. Any of you who dare correct me I still have the "Lassoga" posts saved!

He does not hold German citizenship. In Germany since 2011 only.

He's been a great player these days. I really like this guy and I don't know why Dortmund or Wolfsburg aren't looking for him. This season is Firmino's best season since he arrived to Bundesliga. If wonder is there a chance to play for Germany, no way. He's been here 3 years so far and needs 5 more to request citizenship(8 years of working/living to gain papers).
