Yeah... I'm slightly surprised at this. Spoiled a promising Leverkusen side last season.

That's what happens when you ban Nutella from the team.

Off topic, but something similar happened in 2006 at Rangers when Paul le Guen was manager and fell out with all the Scottish players for banning Monster Munch!!!

You have to appreciate that this is based on results in matches not placing in tournament. Also, a loss on penalties counts as a draw. Therefore, in Euro 2012, England won 2 and drew 2 and lost 0. Italy won 2, drew 2 and lost 1. Germany won 4, drew 0 and lost 1.

The squad still seems happy with Loew. A number of players are praising him.

Except that Euro 2012 was a tactical brainfart.

His whole career is a show of tactical brainfarts in the important matches.

The only person I see needing a removal from the NT is Loew. He is becoming very tactically incompetent recently.

Germany legend Oliver Kahn has been vocal in criticising Low, questioning his tactics in the 0-2 loss to Italy, and even called the team "naive".

The German NT has the talent but after the Euro competition I feel it's time for a coaching change.
In both the WC2010, against Spain, and in the Euro 2012, against Italy, Loew was way too conservative, didn't strategize well or put the right players on the pitch. With such a youthful NT team, Germany needs a more dynamic coach that better understands and can better motivate and relate to these younger players. Add to that, Loew's initial addition of Cacau to the team instead of selecting a forward that had a better BL season, like Helmes or Kiessling or even Mike Hanke, shows me Loew is out of touch with what will work best for the NT.
