Maybe Klose's injury (or age) played a part, but Gomez was more profiling and seemed a better solution for NT.
BUT the major problem was that they both chocked when needed. IMO if Gomez cannot find a way to beat those tight defences (we can see that in the next year's matches against Dortmund), I think we should try to find another solution for the main striker of the NT (Reus, Muller or Schuerrle).
