I would consider this tournament a success if they manage to get ONE draw and score ONE goal. well most likely against Hungary.
and after that let's start from the basics, let's first learn how to score against Liechtenstein. Flick is in luck, he get the chance to start in gear 1, not having to play France or Belgium to start his tenure.

Good, because if Muller, Hummels and Boateng got booted after 2018, Kroos should never have been nominated in the first place.

Thats my only hope for Flick anyway, nominate performance based and now on merits from the past if you perfom only poor after.

The thing is, Germany has no proper number 9. Not players like mentioned before. Its always funny how Bierhoff complains about the youth etc, while he is the one responsible for it. They dont want pure strikers anymore, just offensive wise winger's/midfielders. Look at other countries and their attackers. France has Griezzmann, Benzema, Giroud alone.

We have Volland...

The German squad needs a redesign. Some principles should be deployed, a structure and clear hierarchy. Just like what they did when started to build the 2008-2016 era. Investing into specific talented players, passing the torch to the right ones(Schweini, Lahm, Neuer) having a core and try to build on that not trying to have everyone happy.

Then we can talk about tactics. Flick will do that anyway, we saw that first hand. Discipline, structure, sketching the map to play.

The "new core" should consist of Kimmich,Goretzka,Gnabry,Werner,Gosens,MaTS. From the old guard only Neuer, Kroos and Muller still have the class but that depends solely on their level and if there is a place. If for example Muller blocks Havertz's development then Muller should be on the bench or left out same goes for the other guys.

Rudiger is risking a ban.... Even though Pogba said that he doesn't want him to be punished.

Flick will likely implement a high pressing style similar to the one at Bayern.

That means Kroos will 100% be dropped. Kimmich and Goretzka will be the starting CM duo.

But I'm curious to see how is Flick going to solve the striker issue...

Out of everything, i'd want Bierhoff booted out of his position of the National Team Director, he's the one who conforted Löw after his spectacular failure, as well as his handling of the Özil/Gundogan issue.

No.

UEFA said in a statement that after reviewing the television replays, it would open "no disciplinary case".

Well, we don't have a Lewa type of player for NT, but Flick managed to score 3 times and create almost 40 chances without Lewa against PSG.

It's all about tactics. I have faith that Flick will take the best of out speedy forwards (+Muller and Havertz) to create beautiful football.

On the other hand I guess they are considering a suspension for Gosens?
