In terms of results, this has been the worst year for the German NT. Even the “dark age” of 2000 was better [Played 12 Won: 5 Lost: 4 Draw: 3]
Surely Germany can’t do any worse than how they are doing with Löw at the helm?
https://mobile.twitter.com/honigstein/s ... 3525436416^If Poland get a result tomorrow Germany would lose the seeded spot for the Euro qualifying. Then Germany will officially join the ranks of Iceland, Ukraine, Wales and Austria. Is there anyway Germany could do worse?
Kuntz has been going from strength to strength since last years Euro U21 win. Tactically outclassed a much more talented opponent in Spain and had a fantastic qualifying. The last two games some of his First choice U21s were missing either through injury (Maier) or NT duty (Havertz) but Germany still won both games.
The U21s outplayed the Dutch and won 3-0 and today beat Italy in Italy and came back from 1-0 down.
Mark my words. Germany’s rut won’t end unless Löw is sacked. He’s a dinosaur now and a new mind is needed as the Bundestrainer.
I think Germany won’t play until March. In the meantime fire Löw and show the seniors the door. All selection should be on merit alone. No more selection based on “loyalty” and “trust”
Kuntz is not the most attractive option right now but if he can just focus on the basics and get that right, I believe he can get Germany back on track.
