Löw is Germany’s Wenger. Both stayed beyond their sell by date and ended up tarnishing their legacy. Löw should have been sacked post World Cup. Hopefully he is shown the door after France beat Germany on Tuesday.

He can take Müller, Boateng, Draxler and Hector with him. Neuer, Kroos and Hummels haven’t been great either and need to be given a final warning to step it up or perish.

Löw is done with the Mannschaft now. If it wasn’t obvious enough during the World Cup, it painfully clear now!

Deadwood like Müller, Boateng and Draxler too must be banished from the NT for good and I cannot see France, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Netherlands and even England calling up a second division player for a competitive NT game.

Süle has to start every game from now, Kimmich needs to play in the position he plays for the majority of the year with his club, Two of Sane/Brandt/Gnabry/Reus(contingent on fitness) have to start on the wings.

Max and Schulz have to be the LB options. Youngsters like Havertz and Goretzka need to be blooded in the team. Also, as much as it pains me to say this but not even Neuer, Kroos and Hummels can remain undisputed starters from now.

This is the only way forward.

I’ve recently been reading the Germany section on Big Soccer’s website and the users there indulge in a lot of tactical and youth development discussions regarding German football. This is in stark contrast to the gloom and doom negativity that has been plaguing this place for some time now.

Came across this article over there: https://bulinews.com/news/1045/should-t ... be-changed

If Kuntz actually said all this stuff then his analysis of the current German football crisis is spot on and way better than whatever PowerPoint Presentation Löw gave to the DFB.

Kuntz would be the best appointment at this point in time to take over the National Team. He knows the problems and could find a temporary solution that could lead to short term success. I think the DFB should put him in charge as the Bundestrainer and take his advice on coaching youth teams. This could result in short term as well as long term success.

Clearly Löw and his philosophy/system are NOT working and it is worth making a fresh start now rather than throwing away Euro 2020 with the current mess.

Big shout out to Lahm for knowing when to retire from the national team. Muller should do the same thing. Absolutely useless for so much time, that it's stupid to count on him for his good games 4, 5, 6 years ago.

Let me add, big shout out to Lahm for knowing when to retire from club, too....He had declined some but was still one of the best RBs out there when he retired. Some of our players are making his decision look better with every passing game....
God Bless Thomas Müller

Yes Respect to Lahm for retiring before there were calls for him to leave. Many players in the German NT and Bayern too need to follow his example.

Kimmich played in the midfield right? How did he look playing there?

Probably the only player to have come out of this defeat with some credibility. He made the best clear chance of the game when he found Sane who should have equalized.

However, playing him in midfield creates a bigger problem then it solves. He should be back at RB to make that side threatening again.

Look yesterday the Germans had a lot of scoring chances, not comparable to Bayern of late. There were three one-on-ones alone and you expect them to score multiple goals from the chances they had against Netherlands. So what is the problem? Why can't players who play for different clubs having different training suddenly cannot hit the side of a barn if their lives depended on it? I really cannot understand why.

Not really:

Gomez retired, btw., and Reus and Goretzka are injured.

Julian Draxler: "The big question is why we can not manage to play attractive football again with the personnel we have. We are far too slow and predictable"

Germany in the last 5 competitive games since the start of the World cup:

107 shots
32 on target
2 goals scored
