I've seen him pray on screen, but it is just before kickoff...

Bavarian_Kielbasa wrote::: Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil has revealed in his autobiography that he prays in Turkish on the pitch during the German national anthem before international matches.

“Just before kick-off, I pray. It’s become a tradition of mine. It’s always the same text. I pray in Turkish,” he writes in his autobiography ‘Die Magie des Spiels’ (The Magic of the Game), released on March 16 in German.

The quote says "just before kick-off" not "during the german national anthem". I guess this is when players are in place on the pitch, ball in the center, referee with the whistle in mouth... And that's when i usually see Özil pray, hands in the air.

I don't know if you get what i mean.

This is a massive difference to praying DURING the national anthem!

You can be sure Gomez will smash them in. I'd like to see that in place...

In regards to praying during the national anthem, please know that it is considered islamic to be patriotic and love the nation/the nations one belong to. So yes, plenty of time to pray before, and after then anthem, and show patriotism DURING the anthem.

And i believe Özil prays for his national team to succeed... Isn't that patriotism as well? :D

Jurgi Löv is a horrible coach only riding high because of the talent the german team has, lets not forget he chose poldoski for many many years, wouldnt be surprised if those two had a relationship of sorts

Cause like so many here in Germany who praise Turkey so much but escaped and dont want to go back are fake mthrfckrs. fake pride, dont invest any earned money back in their "homeland" to improve the situations , jokers supreme, with 7 kids per family living off of taxes of others

I'm genuinely surprised about Mustafi.

Petersen has had a good season. I'd trust Wagner more but in reality probably neither of them will make the final squad. I predict Werner and Gomez to go to Russia.

By the way he strolls around the field these days I assume he prays well beyond the kick-off. I would say he prays for 90 minutes each game.

Isn't it the government that writes the laws? ;) Of course it was an overreaction, I said it jokingly of course. This German-Turk saga has going on for too long. In essence, the last 22-man Turkey international squad had 5 Germany-born players.

I really like Loew. Best coach for this NT by far

But HOW ON EARTH did he call up Gomez and Petersen instead of Sandro Wagner????????????    I would say Wagner was a much safer bet that Petersen as he has already experience with the NT. What is Petersen doing in this list is beyond me. Luckily he is not gonna make it to the WC.
