I've seen him pray on screen, but it is just before kickoff...Bavarian_Kielbasa wrote::: Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil has revealed in his autobiography that he prays in Turkish on the pitch during the German national anthem before international matches.
“Just before kick-off, I pray. It’s become a tradition of mine. It’s always the same text. I pray in Turkish,” he writes in his autobiography ‘Die Magie des Spiels’ (The Magic of the Game), released on March 16 in German.
The quote says "just before kick-off" not "during the german national anthem". I guess this is when players are in place on the pitch, ball in the center, referee with the whistle in mouth... And that's when i usually see Özil pray, hands in the air.
I don't know if you get what i mean.

By the way he strolls around the field these days I assume he prays well beyond the kick-off. I would say he prays for 90 minutes each game.
I don't think you can legally deprive someone of his nationality...MUTU wrote:IMO they should be left out because of this, especially Gundogan who wrote "To my president, sincerely" on the shirt. Germany should revoke their passports.
