Take a wild guess about No. 1. No. 3 I don't even know who would be, but they are all miles apart from Reus.

I don’t think Germany has any undisputed No. 1 like Argentina have Messi, Brazil have Neymar, Portugal have Cristiano, France have Griezmann and England have Kane.

All German players are quality and the biggest quality is that the team comes first. The team is the superstar.

IF (this is a very big IF) Reus is fit by the first week of June then no doubt he should be going to Russia.

Well, I disagree. Germany does have a best forward. One who has a great record for the NT and has delivered again and again and again. One Löw wouldn't even consider dropping. But, oh well... He is hated now.

I mean, if you look at performance for the NT over the last few years for non-CF attackers, in my opinion it's:
1.Muller
.
.
3. Ozil
4. Gotze
5. Reus(ranked low due to very little playing time)
6. Brandt
7. Draxler(Yeah, I really don't like him as a player).
.
.
.
9. Sane(zero good performances so far)

I get your point, but I think Reus still is the second best German forward even if he has played so little due to injuries.

Özil is a good bet for third.

General German national team thread

Postby pyrasur » Sun May 13, 2018 5:29 am

Fingers crossed for Reus. Such a shame that his talent has been marred by injuries. I was sad Bayern missed out on him, and while we dodged a bullet it’s a shame he hasn’t been fit for Dortmund either. Still, it’s about time he played a major role for Germany.

Mueller has always been great with Germany in WC's, but he's been quite rubbish in Euro's

Why go for Khedira when we have much better options?

How come Ramseij hasn’t flooded this thread about Özil and Gündogan yet?? (And partly rightfully so...)

Khedira had a very good season with Juventus. He is a reliable player... hopefully he makes it with the team.
Oezil I can't believe how he is still considered by the NT!
Gundo, I was a huge fan of his but afaik he is not the same as he once was ...
I have a strong feeling that Loew won't be using a standard 4231...
I think Goretzka is in his plans....

Ter Stegen

Boa Hummels Rudiger
Kimmich Khedira Kroos Goretzka Hector
Muller
Werner

I think the back 3 experiments will be useful for certain situations, but I don't think Loew plans a back three formation as the main one in the World Cup
