I've been frustrated for quite some time with Low's decisions with the starting XI. Granted, Germany has had a lot of players get hurt, with Reus being the biggest loss, IMHO. Still, he's made some horrible decisions that will kill Die Mannschaft's chances in the single elimination phase of the WC 2014. The worst idea is, of course, playing one of the world's best right backs in midfield. Just because Pep had to play Lahm there doesn't make it right. Secondly, playing Khedira so much, after just coming back from a serious knee injury, is insane. He also went on the record saying Ozil would be a stand-out in this WC. WTF? Did he not watch his form diminish throughout the EPL season with Arsenal? He doesn't have any passion anymore and he needs to sit his ass on the bench and watch. Gotze has been ok, but he hasn't been close to what he was at BVB. Boateng should be playing CB with Hummels, not playing LB. Howedes is so f*cking slow, he single-handedly helped Ghana damn near beat Germany. Klose can be a game changer, as evidenced in the Ghana match, but there's no way he can play 90 minutes and no one should expect him to be a miracle-worker when he comes off the bench as a sub. To me, Muller has been the standout and I hope he continues to score and play well. I'd like to see Bastian and Kroos together, it just makes sense.I'd also like to see Poldi get some minutes. I can only hope Germany can at least get out of the group, so they don't become the next European team to go home.

He definitely is a great players, since rarely do we see a young German CB playing for a foreign league and called into the NT squad for the biggest tournament there is. However, the fact that he is being played in a completely new environment for him is what made JLo's decision to include him a huge judgement error. I think the next logical step for Mustafi is to go back to the BL and join a CL squad in order not to waste his talents in a mediocre team/league.

He was also one of the best CBs in that league (or so I read), which happens to be famous for defending.

According sportmediaset; there are not negotiations with Mustafi and Milan

Shaqiri, Mueller and Robben alone have scored as many goals as Barcelona and more than double Real Madrid :D

Germany have to really careful against this interesting team of Algeria... (if I understood correctly all players in the Algerian tm were born in France!)
I am seeing parallels with last Euros Q/F vs Greece. Tricky match indeed...

Why Draxler wasn't even on the bench?

Hummels, Badstuber, Alaba

I heard the commentator say that 16 players of the squad could have played for France.

Schurlle barely got 10 minutes last game and you expect Draxler? But yeah, I even forgot he was called up.

Yes, definitely a hard one. Algeria have played great.

Still, I have a feeling that this is as far as their good football will go, and they will suffer a historic loss. We will see; I hope I'm right.

I'm not Müller's biggest fan but his stats in World Cups are simply great.

I've done some research and I could be wrong but Müller has at this point of the WC

9 Games played
- 9 goals
- 4 assists
- 4 MVP's
- 1 Golden Boot award
- 1 Best young player award

And he's still 24 years old !

On the club level he's like a different player. He's ok. But at the World Cup he is an all-universe level player who can make the likes of Aguero, Ronaldo, etc. piss their pants and beg for forgiveness. It's so gratifying to watch.

Yes, it is the clear consequence of the disfunction created by grouping the country's best players whose playing style have little or nothing to do with each other. In Muller's case, his NT is as close as he can get to his usual playing style. At least that's my theory.
