Giefer has played a wonderful season in Düsseldorf. It's a great buy for them... but I'm not sure if Fährmann thinks the same

Just going through today's printed edition of the Daily Mirror, and I ended up in the sports section out of curiosity.

They are reporting that Schalke are after Fabianski, along with Basel, Liverpool, and Southampton.

I guess they don't know they already bought a GK. :P

Great deal for Schalke but it's catastrophic for Fortuna Düsseldorf.

Giefer saved their a$$ too many times this season. Unnerstall is a horrible GK

Hmm removing the "es" seems to have done the trick:

I think it makes sense for him to go back to Germany and play for a top BL squad.

I don't know much about him and he didn't play enough yesterday for me to judge, but it's always nice seeing more NT players playing in the Bundesliga.

What do you say about Schalke after all these transfers and new recruits from their youth setup? They look really great after many years, but I doubt that Keller can make of this team something what Klopp has made with Borussia in the last 5 years.

31 player in roster, seems very big... They've bought 3-4 new players and 3-4 youngsters have being promoted, though. Not bad, but they have to sell Barnetta and Obasi which they don't need anymore.

I like how their team look and their expectations need to raise in the forthcoming season.

I guess the only problem is striker. They only have 19-year-od Donis Avdijaj as a 2nd choice after Huntelaar which isn't good especially when they have lacked efficiency in the last season, when of course, Huntelaar was out for the whole first period.

They really need to change their manager...

The ST needs reinforcement but Boateng can actually play as one or give Draxler a try. Wenger wanted to turn him one didn't he? I hope they can do better in CL this season.

They are a really enjoyable team to manage in FIFA. Hehe

That's not good, at least it wasn't good in the last season before Huntelaar comeback. Dutchman had shown how important his recovery was for catching the 3rd position.
Schalke is not Bayern, Real or Barcelona and they aren't capable of doing these actions with other players who aren't strikers. They need one new signing for sure, like Dortmund which bought 2 new strikers.

But they are really good in the last line, especially these CB positions where they actually have 6 players for 2 spots. Even defensive midfield is not bad at all if Goretzka finally starts to perform great.

But almost everybody have told the same - Keller is not good enough to be a mentor to these guys and to lead the club on the higher level. President Tönnies and sport director Horst Heldt are great, but they only miss a new Jürgen Klopp to complete a strong Schalke trio.

Wolfsburg have Allofs and Hecking which have worked great so far and now they need to move a next step and bring the club in CL with the financial support of VW Group so they can bring Lukaku and new guys to the club.
