Didn't pan out but I guess he didnt really get a decent chance at Schalke. In all competitions last season he started only 5 times according to transfermarkt. Overall he played in 28 games getting 851 minutes of playing time. 30~ minutes per game. He was never seriously considered as a starting option, just another player to have in case of injuries etc. I liked him at Leverkusen.

Schalke had the option to pay that price to keep him, but they were not interested in signing Bastos for another 3 years. The right decision given his age, wages and limitations imo.

Barnetta was worth a try given his low wages, his earlier performances in Leverkusen and his international experience. Didn't pan out. That happens.

I thought Bastos would offer them some valuable experience to their squad and i just personally never liked Barnetta.

Can you imagine that haha.... I'm all for it. Are they linked with loan deals or becoming actual Schalke players?

Does it really matter? You're not expecting them to go there are you? :P

It's nice that they got their act together in order to qualify, it would be nice to see four Germans in the round of 16.

Keller is not very good, the defending against paok was not great.

I wonder if Basel will be willing to let go Valentin Stocker to Schalke given that they are now direct competitors in the Champions League group phase.

No Stocker. Aogo signed for S04 who's converted to winger.

I thought they signed Aogo because Fuchs was in horrible form and Kolasinac is injured.

I guess so. The left wing should be Draxler's place :)

I think Fuchs is not that bad. He is very important in their offense with his crosses and his set pieces IMO. But it's true that the first thing you have to do when you are a left back is DEFEND :) ... but the whole Schalke's defensive system is a mess, not just Fuchs

He could be a nice addition to Schalke but he earns probably as much as Huntelaar earns here. So there can be troubles. He isn't saint enough to take a pay cut. If he takes the pay cut, he'll probably ask for a sign-on fee in region of 2m.

Instead of Adebayor who makes no sense with Szalai and Huntelaar already under contract it seems like Kevin Prince Boateng is in Gelsenkirchen for his medical. I wonder how much Schalke is going to pay for that transfer. I wouldn't spend more than € 10-12m on him

And it kind of fits. Kaka wants to leave Real and go to Milan, they are preparing a place for him by getting rid of Boateng.

But Kaka has still two years left on his contract with guaranteed € 20m net salary. Did he really decide that he earned enough money for one life-time? Milan won't be able to pay him half of that.
