Maric is one of the founders of Spielverlagerung.de / Spielverlagerung.com and wrote the piece about Manuel Neuer in 2014, which we translated for their English site.

Well, it's to good to hear that one Croat is highly-respected within football circles and yet sooooooo young. Jesus Christ! He is barely 26 years old and that's the best part in the whole story. I was literally shocked when I saw an article 1-2 years ago about Marco Rose and his video/tactical analyst Rene Marić.
http://www.nogometplus.net/index.php/istaknuto/takticka-analiza-marco-rose-ce-brzo-prerasti-rb-salzburg-ako-vec-i-nije-foto-video/

Tuchel also wanted Marić, but Rose was faster back then. From the current point of view, I guess Marić won't become a football coach one day(never say never), but he'll be one of the best and most important operatives and assistants behind the scenes.
Being a no. 2 or no. 3 is not something bad in football, in fact if you are the best no. 2, no. 3 in the world or in some other role, that's also very important and appreciated in the last 10-15 years.

Unbelievable medieval mentality.

Most probably these flags had the Mönchengladbach city emblem on them which is very common practice even in other clubs.

Next thing I'm expecting is a UEFA announcement asking for the removal of Christian symbols for away games to these places.
I hope they never get to host a national teams event since they would've to confiscate the national flags of many Western European countries.

You've read one side of the story. I wonder what the Turks' side is. I understand that it is entirely possible for some fans to have tried to provoke using religion.

So I guess this is not bigotry from the Turks ! Cause bigotry is only for Europeans and Catholics...

A quick search shows many German newspapers reporting about this story and considering the current political atmosphere in Germany, I'm sure that most of the newspapers would have the facts and if there was any, we would see reporting about fans provoking trouble reported in the German media, but I found none.

I'm not sure if I translated this article correctly but does this line;
Die türkische Polizei soll sich nach Vereinsangaben an der christlichen Symbolik gestört haben.
say that the police had issued a notification to the club about the christian symbolism ?
