They just stared at the opponent.

Dortmund was actually playing pretty good in the first half. They should have been up at least 2-0 by halftime.
I was personally happy to see them look almost like their old selfs again (in the first half).
Didn’t see the second half, but playing 1-1 at home is just

Most of the goals they concede are avoidable.

Think that's a pretty generous take. Their only goal was a gift from Augsburg, a better defense clears that ball every single time....They finished with two shots on target for the whole match, one in the first half...and IMO their second shot on target wasn't even on frame, so not sure why it's being counted....

Before this season Matthaus said their CBs were too slow and this will hurt them badly.

I know a lot of people hate Matthaus, but he tend to speak the truth most of the times. Like he said Pep did not like Bayern but was only seeing his contract done, and that turned out to be true.

Well, the speed of the defenders has little to do in set pieces and they are not playing ultra high defensive line anymore. So this shouldn't be an excuse anymore.

Regarding the last part, Pep only had good words for Bayern when he left and he's always claimed to be proud of having been part of the club. I can't see how did you get to that conclusion :-k

Matthaus is a good example of "even a broken clock is right twice a day"
Seem to be only remembering the "right" times and forgetting the thousand wrong times.
And he's dead wrong about Guardiola. Confirmation bias much?

I would like Dortmund to sign Max Arnold from Wolfsburg. An underrated midfielder with good ball distribution, aggresive and someone who can be a good leader.

Sahin is done and Dahoud is too soft for a midfield role

This is true. I too think that our chief domestic rivals have too many wingers and not many Central midfielders. Dortmund should get him before some PL club comes for him.

This would be their best formation.

That's a very good lineup indeed. With a decent CM next to Weigl and a good coach they could easily trouble some of the big guns in Europe.

People would think with all the money from Dembele and Auba (who flopped at Arsenal lolol), Dortmund can buy some serious players and can get back in the game.

I say no.

Dortmund had seriously undermined its reputation as one of the European Elites back in the 12/13 season. By selling so many players easily they have ruined it. And the locale of the city is just too bad.

Their money can hardly go anywhere.

That's why I was suggesting someone inexpensive who could give Dortmund a boost in midfield :D

I still think Dortmund can recover, but they need to take the right decisions in summer. They have no error margin anymore
