I haven't seen anything from this kid, but there've been hundreds of players like him

Unfortunately, once they are 17-18 they cannot use their physical advantage anymore and they become mediocre

Except he's already playing with 17 year olds, and scoring. And from the video I see no physical advantage for him with the opponents... he would have had that had he been playing with kids his age, but he's playing with kids 4 years older than him.

How many times has an overhyped kid like him become a top player? :)

I've seen this cases all the time in Spain. The last ones were the Obama brothers (Atletico) and many players from the Samuel Eto'o foundation that were playing for Barcelona

Once they are 17-18 they're gone.

Freddy Adu started playing professionally at 14. It didn't work out well.

I tend to be in agreement with YlonenXabi.
While what he's doing against the 17-y.o.'s is impressive in its own right, a 17-y.o. is still very different (physically, mentally, tactically, whatever) than a fully grown man (I know there are some exceptions, but by and large this is accurate). At that age level, it's easier to be able to best guys on pure physicality, strength, speed, etc.

Dunno how many of you follow American sports, so I don't know if this analogy will land...but it's like how you can have a kid in high school be a star football/soccer/whatever player, but he doesn't get any major college offers. or he gets to college and is average. Or you've got the guy who's faster than everyone in college sports but then turns pros and realizes everyone is just as fast as him. Etc, etc.

Like I said, not trying to downplay his accomplishments, but until he starts performing at a high level against senior-team quality opposition (i.e. adults), I'm not gonna worry too much.
God Bless Thomas Müller

Dortmund shares up 2.9% on midday trading after news on Dembele's transfer.

Raise your hand if that is the on-topic post you least expected to find on a football forum.
