Release clause or not, when down the the 2. Liga, he will leave. This is for posturings sake. That's not to say it wasn't a huge move for Dortmund!

Release clause or not, I just cannot realistically see Dortmund getting relegated, either this season or while Reus is still playing for them. We've joked about it, yes, but at the end of the day it's not going to happen. They could potentially be in 13th place by next week.

All they need is 3 wins in row and if they they do so, I just can't see them again in similar crisis. 3 matches, 9 points and I guess the bad times will be behind them. They just ended their nightmare with 5-6 straight defeats in row. 3 wins would put them back on the right track.

Also, Reus' contract extension should be a boost for all teammates to focus and motivate on the following games, Juventus, etc. I just wanna see them around 8th place in the end of the season despite it looks so unlikely. We'll see how will they do it in the next 3 matches and if they can tie 3 wins in row... 9-10th place would be more than fine from this perspective.

Honestly, if you drop, I'll be far from sucking it. :P. Thanks for the info. Kicker also announced the contract applies to 2.Bundesliga although I agree with everyone else, I hardly see him playing in second division (you don't have details of the rest of the team 2.Division release clauses do you?) nor the club being able to afford that salary under those circumstances.

I think we'll finish around 8-9th place this season.

Just being objective, you can do much better. :P

Anyway, today's the game against Mainz. Very important, we will see if the Freiburg game was just an accident or are we finally ready to start winning games regularly.
