That's the one I'm referring to too. La Liga is the strongest league over that time period.

In 90s it was Serie A (by far), while 80s was transitionary (between PL and Serie A). As for 70s, it was Bundes and PL. So I really dont get when was the La Liga strongest (maybe 50s and early 60s and thats it)

What I mean is that these stats are heavily skewed toward the modern period as the average Elo rating is increasing over time.

In the 1960s, Real Madrid averaged 1945.

The next time a club averaged an Elo rating that high was in the 2010s. It's also understandable why Elo ratings have increased lately: the domination we're seeing is unsurpassed. Season after season, Bayern are breaking Bundesliga records. The difference between the top team and a team fighting relegation has increased.
