Erm no... We need at least 6 wc players with actual balls to even remotely consider this...
Consider what? Can you elaborate?
If we want to keep playing the way we do, correct. You're not exaggerating imo.
If we want to play the way I want us to, I think that lineup I posted is already good enough to beat anyone and there aren't any really old players. The bench is good too. We would need to buy some more great backups especially considering our injuries, and obviously one would hope we will still invest in world class players to strengthen it even further. Since this is the tactics thread I was just working on the assumption that we won't buy or sell anyone.
My point is that even if we don't want to spend a lot of money and if we missed the good Robbery replacements (KDB, Salah), we can still put out what I consider to be a world class starting 11 if we stop stubbornly playing Robbery each time.

Phillip Max X) keep confusing them, sorry.pyrasur wrote:PunkCapitalist wrote:4) Max Phillip, Martial a CB and a DM. Not a fan of Griezmann and don't think we need yet another CM. Werner.
You keep confusing me. Do you want Maximilian Phillip, the Dortmund forward or Phillip Max, the Augsburg defender?
FCBayernMunchen wrote:Ok... To a certain extent I agree there. But I do think that team can beat anyone (not good enough to be considered favourites in every game without transfers though) and if it can beat anyone it can compete for the CL. We all know we'll be competing for the double no matter what we do or don't do.

We can easily switch to 4-3-3 or 4-4-2 and we would have depth with Mueller, Thiago, Tolisso, Wagner, Ribery, Robben, etc
We just need a top winger and a RB/LB backup

It's a good lineup but we need more than that, mainly because 1-2 injuries and we're back to Robbery starting every game.
This is the main reason I'm against sticking to wing play. It already seems very difficult to get a world class RW, but we need to get at least another good backup along with him.
