Grass needs at least 2 weeks to really adhere to the ground. Until then we it will look like a bad pitch where every "package of grass" could be easily saw.

Also, in those two weeks it can cause injuries because the seams are still uneven and can become loose and trip the players. There are ways to improve this but it always happens.

We can just hope the player will not destroy the new grass before the ground and the grass sticks together.

I guess this is the least dangerous for players to trip over before it becomes even, because it's vertical.

Of course it's timed with that. Some 7-10 days of peace for the pitch.

However, we still tolerate the intruders inside of the AA who have been the main cause of all the ground damage for the last 11 years. :|

More (in our case) since our first game after the break is away. Apart from this weekend, our next home game is Eindhoven in 3 weeks' time.
