I think that'll take it to around 78-79000 for Bundesliga games :D

No, it's 75K for Bundesliga matches if I understood correctly.

I guess that's the maximum possible capacity they can get to, else I think they would aim higher.

Actually it's close to the minimum required for hosting Euro 2020 semi and/or final. The requirement is for 70,000 minimum seating capacity and the Allianz Arena will have around 71K-72K seating.

What I meant is that there is no more room to add additional seats/standing area.

How do they do that, really?!!
I mean a stadium like Allianz has very strict physical limitations... How exactly can you increase the capacity of an already-built stadium from 66k to 75k?!!

One way I can think of is to move the seats closer together and/or replace them with narrower ones

The extra staircases are being turned into seat rows. :)

The newspaper reports that Bayern are planning to increase capacity by converting the free steps in the upper tier of the stadium, while Rummenigge has also vowed to “do something good” for the fans and introduce a further 2,000 places for standing fans. [source]

Probably summer. Maybe even at a later stage. It's mainly to cross 70k seating capacity criteria for Euro 2020.

We'll have to wait and see, I guess.

On another note. I'd like to bring an old issue to fore.
Why the hell aren't we colouring the seats red?

See Wembley, it looks beautiful.

Better yet, colour it like this choreo. Now that would be AWESOME! [-o<

I wonder with Philips taking over the external lighting of the Allianz what they will do to make their mark, they could show the scoreline during the game and the game clock and use it as an information screen but with the stadium being out of the way it might not have such an effect.
