Following UEFA's new money distribution rules and increase of premiums, Bayern could earn a club record of over €100m from the Champions League next season [tz]

How would that even be possible given that Audi is our shareholder?

Very interesting. Great news for us as more money enters our coffers. As a BMW driver and fan, I would welcome this change. As BMW is from Munich it makes for a happy marriage.

BMW want to buy share to FC Bayern e.V or to Audi ?

Because in one case it's good, in the other one it's catastrophic.

Several reports are saying that Audi and Bayern have extended their sponsorship deal (not relating to the shares Audi owns) until 2030 for an increased fee. Which of course is great for the club. Some reports have implied that BMW will buy Audi's shares and simply replace Audi as our car sponsor. That is probably not going to put more money into our club as they would just buy Audi out.

It has also been reported that our board want Audi out because of their part in the "Dieselgate" scandal as it is bad for the club's image. The partnership with Audi has been since 2009 and has been successful for both parties. I'm a sucker for long-term partnerships so I would be happy if Audi would extend and increase the deal. Even though BMW's are better cars :) If some car brand would have to replace Audi, then BMW should be the one.

Funny to care about club image when your president is a tax-fraud and ex-prisonnier.

He served his time. He rightfully paid for his actions. If it was anyone other the Uli then he wouldn't have returned.

I think that any reports linking this rumour to the board surely is off the mark as both Martin Winterkorn and Rupert Stadler are members of the board.

In a way, you could say the Group (VW that is) is the only company other than Bayern (and Bayern EV) itself to have more than a single seat in the house.

You could make an argument that Bayern's board cares little about the Dieselgate scandal as Dr. Winterkorn is still a member of that select group despite having been indicted in the US for that affair; one of the few top level executives from the world's top automaker to be so. Winterkorn presence could be attributed then only as a gesture of faith or gratitude towards him personally as he no longer works for VW (or Audi for that matter.)

Do consider also Stadler on the other hand is not only a board member, he stands as Deputy Chair along with Adidas' top man.

As for BMW making better cars than Audi; well, that's debatable. But yes, their American cars are hands down the best built SUVs anywhere in the world.

To me personally I think that BMW was foolish to let a partnership with Bayern go to Audi. They should be Bayern's natural sponsor and having no other Sports sponsorship burdens to worry about (other than Sailing or I don't know, golf?) to match Daimler's efforts in national football they should really be interested in managing some sort of a miracle coup.

What I'm 100% sure is that the board will be interested in the amount of money these two companies are ready to offer Bayern. The board has shown recently that long-term sponsorships are not sacred as shown with Lufthansa. As this is being reported now, to me it seems as this is not case closed that Audi will remain as a shareholder or our car sponsor. It must be something to this and therefore a chance that BMW will buy Audi out.

I do think that Audi will add a few million euros to their sponsorship deal and everyone will be happy.

Why Audi would sell his share to BMW ?

They own this share and if they want to be dick they can.

That's what can happen when your club is not 100% own by the fans, the club association or a unique investor.

Yeah but a re-evaluation could result in the club being worth more now (not unlikely) and a pack of shares at least equal tonAudi could be sold to BMW, this forcing Audi out...
