Drop in revenues and strangely, the biggest chunk of the drop is commercial revenues

Yes, the drop in revenue is worrying. I can understand losing a place or two at times as other teams get some new deal but to earn less than a year ago is really worrying for a club of Bayern's size. We are probably the only top 10 club to earn less than a year ago.

I think it might be a natural reaction to post-CL success. The difference is not big.

I was going to dismiss the topic with a simple 'weakest Euro since van Gaal dropped his pants' (which clearly benefited United dammit) but then again Madrid, Barcelona and PSG managed to increase their income and they have a lot of business being done over shores.

Then I thought, oh well, we haven't EDIT sold anyone meaningful but apparently player sales are not included.

Damn I'm starting to worry. And this is after opening business offices in a few overseas markets. :?

Is the Swiss Ramble guy still blogging? It'll be interesting to get his point of view.

No, swiss ramble is only blogging about UK stuff these days. But yes tflags, your points are all very legitimate concerns. With the PL getting ever richer due to TV contracts it's imperative for Bayern to keep up the commercial aspect of revenues running at a high level.

Am I wrong if I say that T.Com is also from Qatar?

Hm... I wonder how big this will be. Could be just a normal sponsor or someone buying shares from Bayern (like Adidas, Audi, Allianz).

Lets just hope that the DFL negotiates a really good domestic deal for the upcoming tv rights period! That could potentially add 40+ mill to Bayerns finances. The entire Bundesliga should also keep push the internationalisation of the league, so they can negotiate a better deal with FOX and other international broadcasters when that time comes. CL succes and partially EL success are vital in this regard.
