Young Schweinsteiger seeing his first a-team action with Bayern at the age of 17 was caught one night in the whirpool of the Bayern trainings ground in attendance of a young female. His story is she was his cousin visiting and he just wanted to show her where he trained before she and her family left Munich. Needless to say nobody believed him.
Most people probably remember how a starstruck Schweinsteiger used to have his place in the locker room next to Oliver Kahn and never had a towel after training cause Kahn was using his. Schweinsteiger was way too scared to ask Kahn to not take his towel for more than a year!
Kahn and Bayern legend Mehmet Scholl used to have their places next to each other in the locker room too. So in order to get each other going and motivated before some games their conversations went something like this:
Kahn: "why is the coach even letting you play, you wouldn't be able to kick a ball if your life depended upon it, let alone score a goal!"
Scholl: "why put on those goalkeeper gloves, today you won't be able to stop a single shot coming your way!"
Their team mates were really freaked out by these conversations obviously...
At a end of the season game between Bayern and Stuttgart several seasons ago that saw some dubious calls french right back Willy Sagnol told referee Merk "Ref we are making a sub!" The referee checked the sidelines and noted nobody getting ready "there is no player ready to change." to which Sagnol answered "no ref, we are subbing you!" The incident was apparently witnessed by several players of both sides and caused much laughter on the pitch. Referee Merk joined in on the funny and after a minute playing resolved and legend has it the refereeing was much better after that. (Imagine such a reaction by a referee today!).
At a Champions League game between Bayern and Manchester United in Manchester Jens Jeremies was assigned to a specific player to make sure he won't take control of the game. First thing you know Jeremies is tackling his assigned opponent at the middle line and telling him in very broken English "this line you are fine. Overe here you not fine!" Nobody knows if the player even understood him but Bayern won that game.
