Yeah no doubt, but still, imo they should have done a worldwide Amazon release and not this region BS again.

aterford wrote:FiveThirtyEight have moved Bayern just slightly ahead of City as their favorites to win the UCL. Currently both are sitting at 21% chance to win the UCL, but with us given the nod as we were also given slightly better chances to advance through the tournament to the final (Bayern - Make R16: 98%; Make QF: 75%; Make SF: 52%; Make Final: 35%; Win Final: 21% ... compared to 93%, 72%, 51%, 34%, and 21% for City, respectively).

Two weeks ago City were ahead at 22% chance to win while we were at 18%.

They also currently have us back up to 83% chance to win the Bundesliga. That's up from 76% after losing to Frankfurt, and nearly back to our highest odds (84%) of the season thus far, just prior to that loss.

UCL (odds to win final): Bayern 23%, City 21%, Liverpool 12%, Ajax 9%, Chelsea 8%, Real Madrid 5%, PSG 3%, Atletico/United/Barca/Dortmund/Inter/Salzburg/Juve 2%

Bundesliga (odds to finish 1st): Bayern 88%, Dortmund 7%, Leipzig 2%, Leverkusen 2%, everyone else <1%

And also current form means nothing. But it's great to see that we are respected despite all the Premier League hype

If I'm not mistaken 538's predictions are completely automated so it doesn't really care about hype. I skimmed through how their system works and was not particularly impressed that a team can drop rating points (which they call Soccer Power Index) even if they win. They discount the fact that the team could be resting players due to a big game coming up, so punishing them for winning 1-0 instead of the expected 2-0 sounds a bit excessive to me.

I can't help but laugh at how a team that is in 7th place in the Premier League is 6th favourite to win the CL :coffee:

I thought the same

However it is likely that Solskjaer won't be in charge in February/March and also keep in mind that Cristiano Ronaldo is probably the best player in CL history. That probably gives them a slight advantage over others like Real Madrid or Juventus

But if the KO stages were to be played next week, they wouldn't stand a chance. :coffee:
