They actually only watched the EURO smh. How is Rui Patricio considered a top 30 footballer in the world ffs?

Gigi Buffon is the oldest player ever to be nominated for the Ballon d'Or.

So, this is FIFA World Player of the Year nominees?

Where can we see the nominees of the France Football Golden Ball?

There are two parts here, Ramos won CL being quite dominant by leading Madrid's defense he even scored in the final, Pepe was arguably the best CB at EURO, a tournament that he won plus the CL as well and Godin he was once again rock solid made it through the final with Atleti IMO Godin is the best hammer CB in the world but that's objective. All of them are deserved nominees, no question.

As for the part of "our guys" Hummels of course doesn't deserve to be there, his 2015/2016 season wasn't good at all despite his good EURO performance which he didn't go to the final(playing for the favourites) for Hummels standards he was average plus he didn't compete at CL.
As for Boateng it's a shame indeed, his progress is remarkable and he is the best out there in what he does along with Bonucci, these two guys get mocked unfairly by FIFA/UEFA while they have worked their ass off to become the players they are today and being the leaders of two giant clubs and nationals. I don't get it either!

Now that Golden Ball and all this circus returned to France Football authority may all these wrongs are coming to an end. We'll see in 2017.

No Golden Ball aka Ballon d'Or

Officially this award has stopped in 2009 I think but now that Ballon d'Or returned to France Football and the previous vote system maybe FIFA World Player will come up again.

Since 2009 Ballon d'Or was awarded from the clowns of FIFA before 2009 was awarded from France Football instead FIFA had their own award the FIFA World Player of the Year after 2009 this award ended because they took over from France Football the Ballon d'Or.

I see now that there's no prefix FIFA on the picture, just Ballon d'Or. Excellent! :)

Time to kick-out FIFA from the name of the topic. 8)

Yes. Anyone thinking Pepe or Ramos are better than Boateng clearly are saving on that Sky/Fox Sports tv package.

Boateng probably missed out because of his lengtht injury but I agree he still deserves to be there.

This also shows that recent questioning of Alaba's form is completely justified. He hasn't been doing as we expected to see him performing on the LB and that there's still a room for his development and improvement. :|

Actually, I take pride in my team and its representatives who reflect on the club - I don't want him!

Nominated players and clubs in which they were produced... there's less 'monopoly'.
