In my opinion we don't have a choice. It has to be possession most of the time. Teams simply won't let us play otherwise.

Ancelotti: "Rotation is important to prevent injuries and to keep all your players motivated."

"I have not yet decided the formation. But there'll be no revolution."

"I will not start a revolution here. I rely on the good things that have been around, making only minor adjustments/changes..."

"For example, I want to play more vertically, faster transition. I hope you will already see that against Bremen."

You guys?
Can't see tweet? Click here!

Once they're all fit, including Coman, our depth is so crazy I can't really pick 2 of them. Robbery obviously still is my favorite for old time's sake though :D

Ribery-Lewy-Mueller is working fine for the moment...

I'd keep those three for the rest of the season if they keep their form.

Sure is, but I'd prefer Ribéry-Lewandowski-Robben with Müller roaming around them as the secondary striker

It would be perfect, if it didn't limit the amount of midfielders we could use. If we put Muller behind Lewandowski, with two pure wingers next to him. We can only use two of our six amazing midfielders (Martinez, Vidal, Thiago, Alonso, Kimmich, Sanches) who could all contribute A LOT to our vertical play...
She’s beauty, she’s grace, if u tell her she only watches football for the attractive players she’ll punch u in the face.

Total ho for Thiago :P

We used to play with 2 central midfielders under Heynckes (Schweinsteiger and Martinez), and it worked out well for us.

I guess that we'll often switch from 4-3-3 to 4-2-3-1.

This or Ribery-Coman. Robben will still play a lot especially as a super-sub. Costa as backup.

Yeah, but at that time we had prime Robbery at the wings and playing two midfielders only meant benching Gustavo. Nowadays we most likely only have Coman and Costa (not Robbery level players) and by playing only 2 MFs (most likely Vidal and Thiago) we keep Javi, Renato, Xabi and Kimmich in the bench. Completely different situation IMo.
