No, he becomes a part of the back trio:

And you know who will be left as the only defender ;)

So, MoFattal, where does Lahm, the Kapitan, play since the defender is Dante by your meaning? :x

Too many playmakers. One of Müller or Robben should always be present in our attacking midfield, to provide that direct goal-scoring threat.
The ideal team

--------Müller with gloves--------
-Müller--Müller--Müller--Müller--
-------Müller---------Müller-------
----Müller----Müller----Müller----
---------------Müller---------------

That's a sacrifice the captain would be willing to take for the team ;) Or we can make him part of the back trio and bench one of Kroos/Martinez.

And may be you could sit beside Pep as 'Assistant Coach'.

Well, I'm not supposed to say anything as it is all still off the records, but I've been indirectly approached by Pep's agent brother.

I hope we don't but we will most likely play a 4-3-3 with Guardiola.

Our bench would consist of

CB's - Boateng, Van Buyten, Martinez, Gustavo [-o<
CM's - Gustavo [-o<
FW's - Shaqiri, Maduzukic, Pizzaro

OUT: Gomez, Robben, Rafinha, Tymo
MAYBE OUT: Gustavo
IN: Gotze and maybe a backup CM if CAN does not quite make it.

I <3 Gotze but I am slightly annoyed by this transfer because I have a lot of faith in Shaqiri and I think he truly can be the next superstar, I hope Shaqiri gets all the chances he needs to enter the startling lineup.

What we need to talk about is who are the definite starters under Guardiola? We know four players which we can all say with accuracy that will be starting no matter what which is :-

100% Starting: Neuer, Schweinsteiger, Lahm, Martinez, Gotze and Badstuber
It would be common sense to assume that people like Muller, Ribery, Kroos and Dante will all have starting spots but I don't think its guaranteed. Badstuber on the other hand is Guardiolas perfect choice of defender and he will start as long as he recovers in time for summer practice.

Now that Gotze is coming our new coach is going to have even more selection headaches than Heynckes, especially if Robben remains. We'll just have to wait and see what plans Guardiola has. Are we going to stick with 4-2-3-1 or change to 4-3-3 false 9?

First it was the interest in Lewa so one would say that we would maintain our current system. Then came Gotze and I've already seen mentioned in the press that Guardiola plans for him to be the false 9. But now it seems we are still interested in Lewandowski so we are sticking with 4-2-3-1 after all?

Dude, the way you set up the 4 - 3 - 3, it is incredibly similar to the 433esque 4 - 2 - 3 - 1 we are already playing. I would put Götze in the center (nominally) but apart from that I like the formation, and I've posted it very similarly in the other thread as my 4 - 2 - 3 - 1 option.

The question is, can we employ a "true" 4 - 3 - 3 with one "true" #6 (Martínez) and two "true" 8s (Schweinsteiger, Kroos)? I think this option is very interesting, too.
