Agreed, although I do think it is possible for Ribery to play instead of Kroos and Shaqiri in the middle, as long as Robben isn't playing as well. If I remember correctly he played in that position under Heynckes in 2009, with Schweini as CAM and MVB instead of Gustavo. I can't remember who the fourth midfielder was.

With Shaqiri emerging as a possible candidate it could be our possible future formation in 2-3 years once we move on from Robbery, although I wouldn't mind playing it now. It's a formation which suits Kroos better and also like you said would make more sense of the Martinez transfer (if it were to happen). Can would also find more chances to play in this formation.

Actually with Gomez in starting XI we havent won anything. Last trophy was super cup 2 years ago with Klose as main striker.

Hopefully this will change but as Mutu says for Gomez goals per minute rate, it is a fact, not speculation. We reached CL final and won the double with Gomez on the bench. With Gomez in starting XI we won only second places....

Funny thing that we won another trophy after that super cup 2 years ago, without Gomez in the starting XI. Again :-P

We have a very good squad with depth this season.
My preferred lineup would be (First choice/ Second choice) (assuming all are fit)
.............................................Neuer/Stark......................................................
.....Lahm/Rafinha............Martinez/Boateng.......Badstuber/Dante............Alaba/Contento..
.............................Schweinsteiger/Can........Kroos/Gustavo....................................
........Ribery/Shaqiri.....................Muller/Pizarro.............................Robben/Weiser....
.............................................Gomez/Mandzukic...............................................

[Of course, heavy rotation between Boateng, Dante, Kroos, Gustavo, Muller for two places]
[Also, I am considering the fact that Tymo will leave if we get Martinez and DvB can relax in the bench]

To be back on topic, with Martinez we could try a great 4-3-3...

Müller would be a forward, probably with MM/Pizza/MG and Ribéry.

Having Bastian and Javi in mid, we can change out tactics to a more attacking ones.
