Can't complain too much -- the players had been training solid and still showed good potential for being backup players. We have plenty more friendlies to see them in action.

Was that Shaqiri with that volley? By all accounts on the text feeds and twitters he was impressive tonight, along with our other newbies, Dante etc!

Maybe Weiser will shine and put in some time at a pro level in the coming season. Hopefully Dante can be solid at the back and be a good pair with Badstuber.

Weiser played as a winger right?

I thin Dante will be our main CB along with Badi when it comes to the big game.

Boateng on the bench? Could be a possibility. I feel as if last season Boateng didn't know where he wanted to play as he knew he was going to play RB at the Euro's.

I want to see all our younger players get game time this season. We need to use our bench more and blood our talented guys.

Maybe Boateng ends up putting time at RB and a filler in CB when needed - that would mean Lahm moving to the left of course. Dante will definitely force players to try harder to be a starter.

And that's a massive benefit of having a strong bench.

When it comes to our defense a lot depends on whether we're sticking with Alaba as LB

Agreed, he prefers midfielder to LB, but he was immense their last season, so might not get a choice in the matter!

Holy everything a set piece goal !! :o

Let's hope there's (a lot) more to come next season.

As long as Robben wears a Bayern jersey I do not see Alaba having many chances, then you have Ribery, Kroos and Van Buyten also claiming the ball.
Frankly, I do not see any quality in Robben's free kicks, corner kicks or even penalty kicks (and I am not saying this after he failed two high profile shots from the spot, I said here long time ago) When Badstuber was taking the corner kicks from the right or even free kicks from the right side Bayern look more dangerous on set pieces. I have seen some signs of correcting this nonsense (that only serves the purpose of feeding Robben’s ego) like having Alaba taking the first penalty kick against Madrid but I do not see much beyond that.
Maybe Robben will not be given more PK’s this season but I still can see him kicking his insipid kicks from the right all season long, while Alaba won’t be allowed to get anywhere near the ball.
