Thursday evening's hastily-arranged friendly away to local side SC Fürstenfeldbruck brought seven goals and valuable match practice for an FCB side featuring a mix of pros and a clutch of junior hopefuls. The goals in the clear-cut victory over the Bavarian league outfit were scored by Claudio Pizarro and youngsters Alexander Sieghart (2), Toni Vastic (2) and Pascal Reinhardt (2).

Jupp Heynckes took the initiative and organised the friendly to provide competitive playing time for players who, due to injury or despite the current rotation policy, have featured little or not at all for the seniors this term. Eight members of the first-team squad took to the field, namely David Alaba, Rafinha, Diego Contento, Claudio Pizarro, Tom Starke, Emre Can, Mitchell Weiser and Anatoliy Tymoshchuk, who captained the FCB XI on the night. Sieghart (U-19), Dußler (U-19) and Vastic (FCB II) completed the starting line-up. Three further juniors took over from their fellow youngsters in the second half, with Reinhardt (FCB II), Illi Salahi (U-19) and Olivier Markoutz (U-19) entering the fray after the hour.

The 3,300 crowd saw Bayern comfortably live up to expectations from the start. Vastic (4) and Sieghart (13) handed Heynkes' side an early 2-0 lead, Sieghart completing his brace to make it 3-0 at the break. In the second half, Vastic (47), Pizarro (64) and Reinhardt (66, 70) extended the lead. Bayern keeper Starke was a spectator most of the time, but showed he has lost none of his sharpness with two fine saves during the match.

There were only 3 substitutions, all in the 64th minute:

Markoutz came in for Dußler
Reinhardt came in for Vastic
Sallahi came in for Sieghart

Contento as CB is rather telling - he was moved there from LB, where Alaba needs practise. Normally, it would've been Alaba in midfield, Can in CB and Contento at LB. I guess we'll see Alaba back on the left soon (not this weekend though).

Which is, well, obvious really.

yeah... this practice match was probably organized to give some of the guys some match practice because Jupp is probably going to field most of them (senior players) in the cup match vs. Lautern.

Indeed; he is not making the midfield cut even on the make up team. Does anyone have the assist record? I could only discern Weiser's open goal help. =P~

No, what if we had a major injury to Martinez or Gustavo. We will need him then! Plus he doesnt look sad tbh

so unless he really wants to leave I cant see any reason to sell him. He will probably play at the Pokal
