FC Bayern will play a friendly with Xherdan Shaqiri's former club, FC Basel in January. The last time FC Bayern played in this stadium was during last season's Champions League campaign, with the Swiss team emerging 1-0 winners.

This is the third season in which we will be playing Basel then.... I wonder if we could develop some sort of co-operation with them in the future where we can send our players on loan to develop and hopefully even find some new youngsters like Shaqiri.

This article here is claiming that Bayern scouts recommended Mohamed Salah to Basel after Shaqiri came here. It also quotes their new winger saying that he's a BVB fan.

Well, given the fact that the game is also being held in Basel, that's highly probable. Game money going to FC Basel as part of the deal.

PS: This is not really our next match. We play Lekhwiya SC on 5th January and Schalke on 8th January, but since there is not enough information such as the kick-off time and the stadium I have been unable to open up threads for this match.
