Gah.. would love to be there hehe.. Sadly, Always never get the chance to see Mexican teams play, since they have some class A players. Really excited about this game. And its good that after this one, the WC players will get back so they can start the real fine tuning.

They may have won the World Cup, but they need to re-integrate with the Bayern team very quickly; there's a very big game against Dortmund on August 13th, where prestige and psychological advantage mean far more than the trophy, and Bayern do not want to lose that one.

Ah well.. If Bayern wont win the Super Cup, but instead DFB Pokal and league, i sign immediatly. But Dortmund won enough against Bayern for the next couple years

but my point is why going to the US in the first place... its only for exposure and money... that's all...

I'm sure our US based members are happy.

Well, that's EXACTLY the point. Football is business, my friend.

It will probably hand them business deals/sponsoring and merch sales. They didnt open that new FCB office in New York for nothing.

Absolutely. I couldn't agree more. I think that there are a number of comments appearing on the forum about players, clubs and money because fans have this romantic perspective that it is all about the beautiful game, lifelong loyalty, etc. For the club it is also very much about maintaining profits so that the club can survive and expand, and for the players it also very much about earning as much as possible in the 10-15 years of their professional football career.

Actually, now is one of the best times for Bayern to play in the US. Bayern have a mission to expand as a global brand, the game is enjoying huge popularity in the country, thanks to the US performances at the World Cup, and Bayern can take 7 of the World Cup winning side along on the trip. It is a marketing manager's dream.

And Green! He should play longer for this tour. I'm sure US fans are already looking out for him as their future star.
