It did seem a bit early for Robben to play the full 90 vs Wolfsburg, so I get the feeling that has something to do with it. Thiago,who knows? All I know is I would not want to see him on the same pitch as De Jong yesterday, so rest seems smart.

As for Mario; well he scored, so he plays, because it's always just that simple, right?

Pretty sad, but maybe it can be attributed to visiting RM fans? (wishful thinking here). Whether or not people like him, he's still the trainer this season...

Playing without Robben plus Gotze upfront would be a very good answer to those claiming they lost 'cause Ronaldo and Benzema were left back home.
