What really doesn't make sense is getting rid of Seedorf in the first place. Considering the state the team was in when he took over, and the players he had available, he did a good job. I think I had seen statistics for the teams with the most point since Seedorf took over and Milan were in third or fourth.
What's even worse is that the poor guy retired just to become Milan coach, and they paid him back like this.
