This audio is shocking.

that's a soft penalty sure but also the one given against Emre Can
Basically the refree gave 2 penalties whenever the ball touched the arm.
Intentionally or not

I mean if you read gazzetta talking about the penalty given for Can touch .... "È una decisione molto forzata, ma con qualche base nel regolamento"

While the penalty for us I think the refree gave it cause he gave the one for Sampdoria.

Still Samp player had the arm close to his body but not physically aderent to it.

We should all agree that the second one was not a penalty. The ball had a strange trajectory and barely touches the arm of the Sampdoria player, without changing its path. The move was absolutely not voluntary and the arm was close to the body.

The one on Khedira is a penalty because arm was raised and forced the ball to move upwards changing its trajectory as if the player had touched the ball with his head or shoulder. It was not completely intentional but I remember many penalties correctly awarded (even against us) where the player was tackling and had therefore his arm away from the body. It is unnatural to fall or jump without moving your arms away from the body, but as far as it changes the path of the ball, it is a penalty.

Ye the second one is never a penalty.

The first penalty is Emre Can deflecting the ball with his arm! I know that him and Khedira looks alike but :)

Anyway just wanna point out this situation that happened in a Juventus-Cagliari.

And the cancellation of the Samp goal?

that was based on the rules O_o

A deflected ball does not clear a offside.
That unless it's an intentional play.
Everyone knows in fact people complain about the second penalty and not the goal ruled as offside.
They cried cause it was a beautiful goal but that's it.

I remember Bayern shooting at goal, Buffon parrying the shot, a Juve defender clearing across goal towards a corner but Hargreaves, more advanced than the last line of Juventus defence, is there to score what would have been the first goal conceded by Juventus that season. Except the linesman pulled up his flag. In the same season Juventus had their title revoked in the Calciopoli scandal.

Very interesting blog.

OK I agree Saponara's goal should not have counted , so that was a good interpretation. Very unlucky though.

As for the hands in general I don't agree that they are going to eliminate the intent from the rule.
