12 players... Hoho, that sounds like a super-light version of pre-Bosman period. :D After all, returning the original face of the Premier League we once knew is a very loooooooong journey and I'm not sure whether foreign owners would agree with this, but we'll see.

I'd be very happy to see that in Spain, Italy, Germany, France, Portugal, etc., just not 12 players but 8, which is automatically 1/3 of first team squad(25 professionals). I think it would weaken in some way transfer activities and encourage clubs to turn to their domestic players and business.

In a bid to deal with Brexit and boost the number of homegrown players, the English Football Association (FA) is planning to reduce the number of overseas players in Premier League squads to 12 from 17

Wow. It is already going to be bad for them that EU players would start being considered foreign, but reducing the limit as well is a double whammy.

But it''ll force them to work with youth players and give them more opportunities in the both Premier League and Championship.

I just can't wait to see the effect on foreign owners who are used to get whatever they want to as well as sponsors. But 12 players still literally means you can play with 11 foreigners in the starting 11 and have one on the bench, unlike 8+3 rule before Bosman happened where only 3 foreigners could be at one club.

In other news, Pep was spotted meeting Bayern officials in Munich

Seriously this will have serious repurcussions to English football.

OH you did the 1+1
you have a point... but how does this affect Man C ?? and if so it also show how certain coaches are nothing without an open cheque!

This and South African cricketers (SA has some sort or special relationship with the EU) not being allowed to play as non overseas players for English clubs are the only good things about Brexit

The difference is that the refree works for Var in loco and not some place away.
They call the refree when there is a huge and sure mistake like an offside goal or something like hand balls in penalty area or actions that require a straight red.
So they advice the refree to check the images and then the refree decide by himself what to do.
If it's offside there is no need for refree to check images as it's done with tecnology.

Why is it much better for the VAR team to be inside a van close to the stadium rather than in a more comfortable head office? This is 2018, they're not using smoke signals or pigeons to inform the referee.
