He scored and won a lot... and one has to note that during his career he had to stop for four years because of the War.
1946 he was shot at and was hit behind his knee and to his ankle. Miraculously he escaped unhurt... and continued to play for 11 more years.
He never played for the National team cause he retired a year before the Malta NT started playing.
He was offered a contract by Charlton, S'hampton and an Argentinian club but he refused in order not to worry his mum !!![]()
I really feel sad when I hear such stories cause there were a lot of similar stories of Maltese players who refused to go abroad for various reasons.
When he played against IFK Gottenburg they were so impressed that said that had he been a Swedish national he would have been selected to play for their Swedish NT
