Maltese football

Postby FCBayernMunchen » Thu May 28, 2020 8:35 am

Their 3 point advantage ultimately comes down to them having played 2 games against a team that got 4 points out of 20 games while the runners up had played only 1 game against them. It was, in fact, the very next game. Had the league been suspended one week later they would have been equal on points. In Malta the first tiebreaker is a decider, irrespective of goal difference and the like. Assuming this wouldn’t have been able to be played either, I believe, though I am not entirely sure, that the second tiebreaker is direct encounters, which would have seen Valletta crowned champions based on ramsej’s post. How is that fair?

They has Anelka suspended as a punishment .... but when they drew us they decided to pardon him... and guess who scored?

Got a source for this? I'd like to read more about it.
From Wiki

On 28 February 2000, Anelka scored his first La Liga goal in a 3–0 defeat of rivals Barcelona in El Clásico at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium.[40] However, in March, he was suspended by club president Lorenzo Sanz after refusing to train, because of a disagreement with head coach Vicente del Bosque.[41] After returning to the team,[42] Anelka scored in both legs of the Champions League semi-final to give Los Blancos a 3–2 aggregate victory over Bayern Munich and advance to the competition final.[43][44][45][46] He started in the final, held at the Stade de France in his home city of Paris, as Real Madrid ran out 3–0 winners over Valencia to win an eighth European Cup

Plus he won a ucl against us.... 2012

Valletta won't be giving our their players for the NT, probably B'Kara will join in.

This if a vaccine is not available before the Sept games unless reviewed as per your above post

They can't not give out their players for a NT friendly, let alone a NT tournament.

But they will.

Then they would either be given the go-ahead from MFA or face big sanctions by FIFA.

IF IT WAS NOT SAFE TO PLAY IN JUNE / JULY it won't be safe in Sept or Oct.
The MFA can suck it.... and choose from their darlings Floriana and Hibs

Germany proved it is safe. Countries that were hit harder than Malta, like Spain, are set to resume football. The Champions League should resume in August. What makes Valleta FC so special?

Imo this is pure stubbornness and almost childishness by Valletta and Birkirkara, the two clubs hit most by the decision to cancel the league, but I understand their position.

The league should have continued. The situation in Malta is clearly calm enough to have done that. Yet they insisted it is not safe and the clubs suffered financial losses because of that. So why is September going to be considered safe when it is hardly possible for the situation to be better than it is now unless we succeed in eliminating the virus completely? Of course they KNOW it is safe, they’re just stamping their feet now because of the decision taken regarding this season.
