Mela you are not aware of what was behind it?

I had forgotten it by when I saw the photo (uploaded by that pg I mentioned to @fenix ) it immediately went back in time and remembered the animosity that existed back then between Arrigo and Mifsud.
The latter had said that as long as he is Pres he (Arrigo) won't win another Trophy

Probably he said that he won't let him have it not literally winning it

Encouraging messages for young footballer hit by car at Rabat

Posted On April 26, 2020 - Updated 26 April, 2020 11:38am

18-year old Matteo Grima is fighting for his life after he was run over by a vehicle in Rabat three days ago.

The Imtarfa youth is known in the local football community as a player of third division side, Mdina Knights FC.

Can you tell me with six games left how the MFA is to explain the Birkirkara Valletta or Floriana that they are not going to take the uefa money or the chance to win the league???

Have a look at the table.

To decide the Champions my suggestion is the following :
3 pts separate the first two teams. Play the game, if it ends in a draw Floriana will be declared Champions. If Valletta wins they will force a decider (another game)

Hibs are safe where they are...

Now for the much sought fourth place :

Sirens Birkirkara Gzira

Gzira are one pt behind BKara and Bkara are two pts behind Sirens.

Therefore. First play a decider between Gzira and BKara , who prevails (a draw will be enough for BKara to play Sirens) plays Sirens. Who wins will take the 4th spot. (A draw will be enough for Sirens to take the 4th spot)

Relegation issue : Senglea and Tarxien down.
This year the promotion play off will not be staged and only two teams will be promotedImageImage

In my opinion it should be the same in every country. Play the remaining games. Who cares if we can’t do so before September? We cqn adapt next season.

Your suggestion is massively unfair even though I understand you’re trying to find a solution. Hibs are only 1 point behind Valletta with 6 games left yet your system automatically makes it impossible for them to win the title while Valletta at 1 point ahead only need two wins.

Preferably all games are played even if it takes to play every two or three days...
, I believe that we are heading to scenario where the Authorities are not going to give the go ahead for tms to start training...

As for the suggestion , I went for the three pts difference and the nearest target

To be honest the situation in Malta is good enough to play (without fans) before it gets too hot imo but they might be understandably scared that bringing back football will send the wrong message to people that it’s all over.

On yest tom there is an interesting article re the changes that they are planning to do.
Somethings that I had suggested.... two pro div and regional amateur divs.
Although I am sure that he is going to find it impossible to convince the small teams.
If that will be the case the only way is to not issuing them the license to play.

As for the completion .... all is opening up so should football, no?

Regional!? In Malta? Makes no sense imo. It is better if some teams amalgamate.

Like I said in the coronavirus thread, health authorities will obviously be against it and everything else because their one and only concern is fighting the virus. The safest way is to keep everything closed down, and that is obvious. It doesn’t mean it’s what we should do, because their are factors beyond health ones that need to be taken account by non-health authorities.
