I think the article mentioned that UEFA were going to review the deal so that it falls under FFP guidlines

But they will be innocent until proven guilty. If they are unable to successfully prove the cheating, there is nothing UEFA would be able to do.

Going back to what I already said in the FFP thread, if this is an additional deal then it might be possible to prove this as a "trick" or "cheat". Why would QTA sponsor PSG when they already have an ongoing major deal? If not, it will be hard to take action against them.

This is so awesome that they should have allowed the goal anyway.

EDIT: This was a few months ago so some of you might have already seen it.

French 75% tax rate proposal rejected
Spoiler: show
The French Senate voted on Monday to reject the government's proposed 75 percent rate of income tax that clubs say will damage French football.

French President Francois Hollande wants to tax all revenue over one million euros at 75 percent.
President Francois Hollande wants to tax all revenue over one million euros at 75 percent. The levy would be paid by employers and affect some 14 Ligue 1 clubs, bringing in an additional 44 million euros to the government.

Clubs had threatened to boycott games in France's top two tiers at the end of November as a means of raising awareness over the issue, which they claim will lead to French clubs being less competitive in Europe and see established stars and promising talents go elsewhere.

However, France's upper House of Parliament has voted against the measure. The lower house, the National Assembly, has yet to have its say on the issue.

Socialist Senator Francois Marc had attempted to add an amendment, which would have meant Monaco -- currently exempt from French tax laws -- also being subject to the measure.

The Principality club have already made it clear they will not accept the French Football League's demand that all affiliated clubs be based on French soil for tax purposes come the end of the 2013-14 campaign.

With the Senate's rejection of the bill, however, the amendment is rendered null.

Seeing as the new Tax code came in to effect, do you think that that means that some footballers will be migrating to other leagues? Will the clubs be able to afford the same quality of players with this new tax?

I can't wait to see what happens in the next year in regard to this.

PSG and Monaco have the resources to pay their players despite the tax but other clubs like Marseille, Lyon and etc may find themselves in hard times

And no one talks about that league becoming a top heavy league.

That's just too funny. I guess French people have better things to do than watch the best team in Ligue 1.

"Looks like PSG could do with spending the money on new supporters, not new players during the January transfer window." This line is epic hahaha

wow what a shocker!

On a side note, even Milan is knocked out... Barca is down by one goal against Levante and United is still playing extra time.
