MEDICAL REPORT | 30/09/2017

Following tests carried out on Dani Carvajal, he has been diagnosed with a viral pericardium infection. His recovery will continue to be assessed. [source]

Why would they joke about something like that? Of course it's true.

Marca say Carvajal's problem requires time for a total recovery and, in principle, it could be at least a month and a half before he returns. [source]

I wonder what will happen to La Liga's UEFA coefficient if the unthinkable indeed happens and Barza and Espanyol end up playing each other like 28 times a year.

How likely is it that the league is separated? Not following the politics.

Last I heard La Liga president said there's absolutely no chance he'd allow Barca to play in La Liga if Catalonia becomes independent

From an economic standpoint, that's pretty dumb, IMO

Yest I was watching a tv prog on italian tv tiki taka... and discussed this... apparently Espanyol come from a unionist area.
Uefa won't approve the league and it would be even illegal for players to join the league like those who join teams in Cyprus who are on the Turkish side (this is my note as was not mentioned by the prog)
Ligue 1 could be an option for Barcelona.
But this is pure fantasy as nothing will happen unless they take up arms again even if they do they will be crushed as they have no support.

It probably will be Ligue 1 for Barca if the separation takes place. I remember some key person from Ligue 1 saying so a couple of years back, but not sure exactly who and when.

Yes. Tebas said La Liga would expel both teams. France sounds like a more plausible destination.

Tebas is Real's biggest lobbyist. What he said was pure demagogy. l don't think they would want to lose Barca, since losing Barca would be very massive loss for La Liga. also considering their marketing depends on Barca-Real competition.

if they don't leave La Liga after the referendum and events, since Spain was like a dictatorship it would mean they are shameless.

Real Madrid have endured poorest start to season at Bernabeu since 1998 [source]

This is Real Madrid's poorest start to a new season at home this century with one having to go back to the 1998/99 campaign to find a poorer opening phase to a season at the Santiago Bernabeu.

With last night's 1-1 draw at home to Tottenham in the Champions League, Zidane's men have won three, drawn three with a solitary loss coming in LaLiga at the hands of Real Betis in the seven official home games for the current 2017/18 campaign where the men in white have played four LaLiga games, twice in the Champions League along with the return leg of the Spanish Super Cup.

In the '98 season the side then under the guidance of Guus Hiddink secured three wins, two ties and two losses.

Another damning statistic that echoes the teams' poor start is that of goal scoring at home. Only on 11 occasions have the home crowd been able to celebrate a goal this season so far with this goal shy tally only being matched on one occasion this century so far. The 2004/05 season under the guidance of Camacho and García Remón saw the Real Madrid steam of that time just managed to hit the opposition net 11 times.

Spanish Real Madrid. Zidane isn't joking about it.

I can't recall in the last 18 years that Real had 6 Spaniards in the starting 11. Very homogeneous team with the similar mentality when you add 2 Portuguese and 2 French speaking players to the mentioned 6.

Valencia are doing the same thing and I really like them how they play, how Marcelino has organized the whole team and the results they've achieved so far in La Liga. I hope they won't fall down once again because they deserve to be in the top 3.

Spanish league would look brutal if clubs like Valencia, Villareal, Sevilla, Athletic, Real Sociedad, Betis, Deportivo, Espanyol and Celta would be as constant as Real, Barcelona and Atletico. That's how I remember all these clubs 15-20 years ago.
