Real Madrid and Portugal's Cristiano Ronaldo has suffered a setback in his recovery from injury after tests confirmed he has a hamstring problem.
Ronaldo missed Saturday's win over Real Sociedad and Tuesday's Champions League game against Borussia Dortmund in Germany with what was originally claimed to be a knee complaint, and now faces a longer spell on the sidelines.
"After Cristiano Ronaldo underwent tests, a muscular injury to his left hamstring has been detected," confirmed a club statement.
Coach Carlo Ancelotti had said that Ronaldo, top scorer in both La Liga and the Champions League this season, was expected be fit for Saturday's game at home to Almería. He is now a major doubt for next week's Copa del Rey final against Barcelona.

The game will be played one week before the first leg of the semi-finals, on the same day that we play Kaiserslautern.
