Great show by German clubs today. Leverkusen are winning 3-1 away to Porto (5-2 aggregate) and Wolfsburg winning 3-0 away against Malmoe FF (5-1 aggregate)

I'd say Ajax is a nothing team. Just look at the overall quality of the team

Still, I’d rather stick with Flick. He is doing very well for the team we have, there has been a noticeable improvement over Kovac and even Ancelotti, and his credentials with the German NT as Löw’s assistant are at least as good as Ten Hag’s at Ajax. He did decently well as sporting director with the German NT and Hoffenheim, too. Both teams have declined since he left.

Ten Hag did brilliant stuff last season but with a weaker team he is struggling now. I still think he can be a top coach but with a new coach there is always a risk he might not fit in.

Yeah but Hoffenheim has a smaller population than my compost pile...

Also, you're wrong...

Alvarez and Lisandro Martinez are both strong defensive players who came in at the start of the season. They also have Dest who we want. Blind, van de Beek, Onana, Ziyech, Tadic, Promes Tagliafico are still the same strong core of the squad.

Well, even his problems from last season are the same, it's just more exposed this season. His offensive structure is shite and all over the place, he doesn't seem interested in fielding a proper forward either.

I meant his sporting director stint in 2017/18, not his time as coach.

He was successful as coach too though. He got them promoted to the highest they had ever been, survived, and took them very close to another promotion several times. It took another 2 years after he left to get promoted and that only happened after massive investment, signing Bundesliga level players to play in the lower divisions. He also took them to the DFB Pokal QF.
