The Ribery-Lewa-Müller tridente is so good! Pep always had difficulty finding Ribery's right position on the pitch, but Ancelotti seems to have given him a free reign which is working superbly so far (against Jena, of course).

Can't watch the match and won't be able to latter. Can anyone describe the formation and tactics?

A nominal 4-3-3 that morphs a lot in offense. Kimmich covers for advancing fullbacks, Lahm mostly controls play and Vidal provides movement. Rafinha and Bernat are providing reasonable width (the former more than the latter) while the attacking trio is fluidly interchanging positions in search for space and consequently constantly exposing the Jena defense.

Also, we're playing traditional passing triangles which mostly seems to work in getting the ball forward quickly, although it doesn't draw the Jena defenders out of position in the way Pep's passing game did (though that might be because the Jena players are walking out of position by themselves). At the time being, it's a good idea.

Looked pretty sloppy for the first part, but they seemed to fall into form later in the 1st half. Attack feels dead on the right side, but I guess that makes sense considering the lack of winger

new kits look nice with red shorts. And good half so far. Ribéry and Lewy on fire.
