This was 90% on Thiago. The 10% on Sule is that if he had no time already, he should have left the player shoot (and most likely score). Worst case scenario: score 1:1 with almost 80 minutes to play at home vs a 2nd division team, this versus playing with 10 men the rest of the game, a big game coming in 3 days and so many other things, but who can think that quick in real time?
Thiago, on the other hand made a terrible decision with that pass across the field in front of the box and with the team spread apart to initiate play, and this is not the first time Thiago makes a bad decision early on a game sets the stage for a defeat. It comes down to prioritizing distribution over a more direct tactic, which could be good with the score 1:0 as long as you do not make a mistake.
