Benfica always seems like a bit of a boogy team in that we rarely seem to stomp them on the curve like most smaller clubs...

Provided no injuries happen between now and this game. I would like to see this starting eleven:

They are incapable to play defense though, the Bayern of Portugal :P
They are a good and technical team. Da Luz is always a tough away match, I'm sure they will put us in trouble defensively.

I saw them against PAOK... they are a team that doesn't get nervous even when under pressure or looking like they are going to get beaten.
They create goals out of nowhere, and are very dangerous at set pieces.

If Kovac is worth his salt he'll play with 5 forwards. Benfica needs to be bombarded, bypass the midfield.

Since this is Kovac's 1st game (as a manager) in the ucl and its an away game and most probably the hardest game of the group stages..we should be a bit cautious..

If we are comfortably up then take off James and bring on Leon..and make it a midfield 3..
The reason is James is a very important player and also the most injury prone and we don't even know if he's 100% fit yet..
Once his job is done he shouldn't be on the field if we lose him then be can already writeoff this season..

Coman is already injured..
Thiago..by god'e grace is ok for some time now.. [-o< [-o<
Gnabry even though he is already injured..doesn't matter as much as James ..
Alaba..same as Thiago

Boateng is also crucial and injury prone but..I don't remember James playing 2 months without injury..
