We've seen Kimmich playing RB appearing literally everywhere, wingers playing centrally, Alaba joining attack, wingers swapping sides... Then when we aren't in possession sometimes it is 4-4-2 or 4-4-1-1 or even 4-2-3-1. As I said, numbers don't matter

One of our weaknesses vs Lyon was Davies being caught out of position. Something that can get even worse if Kimmich is playing RB. It also seems that Flick wants Pavard back because he 100% sees Kimmich as our leader in midfield.

So maybe he's planning with a stronger midfield that would prevent us from being countered? That would also mean Davies can play a more offensive role

I don't know. I just don't think Flick will bench Thiago or Goretzka. But hey, that's just my opinion :P
It is a n interesting thought... Something like this:

Gnabry-Lewy-Müller
Kimmich-Thiago-Goretzka
Davies-Alaba-Boateng-Pavard
Neuer

Don't know if Flick is likely to do something like this though.

It doesn't look that good on paper but that would give us lots of flexibility

Davies would play almost as a LW with a back 3 of Alaba, Boateng and Pavard.

if Pavard joins attack then Kimmich would cover the RB area. The whole point is having always 3 at the back to prevent counters, a good midfield and good numbers up front to press high

In order to do something like this you need a very good tactical set up and players who can read the game. And at the moment we clearly have both so why not?
Haha

Replied to my your earlier post without seeing your subsequent elaboration.

Pep would do that.

For that reason, I'm starting to think the usual lineup would work best.

I'm not saying we should play like that. I'm just saying it is a possibility because I don't think Thiago or Goretzka will be dropped.

And it's not a change of system. Actually If you pay close attention to our matches our players have plenty of freedom and move freely all over the place. But whenever someone leaves his position there is an immediate cover.

Take this goal as an example. If you didn't know anything about Bayern could you ever guess that Kimmich was our starting RB ??????????

During the game our players change position a lot and you could say we play 4-2-3-1 but during the game it evolves into many different formations and players occupy different positions all the time

This Kimmich - Goretzka - Thiago thing would not be a huge change in terms of tactics. Most of the players would be doing their usual thing. Moving freely and occupying spaces. It would mostly affect our left wing freeing up Davies and also it would help us not being countered

Again I'm not saying we should do this. But if Pavard starts then it wouldn't be that unlikely

You with 4-1-4-1 and 4-3-3. There's no system without Müller playing behind Lewy.

Where or when did I say that Müller should be dropped for this game??????????????? I really don't get what you're talking about.

Nonsense mate.

Since we play an extremely high line, there will likely be few occasions for penalties against us. Were more likely to get penalties in favor of we press that high.

You think that PSG will enter our box on few occasions? I hope you're right :)

Hahahahaha not necessarily. I think we will have few chances to give them penalties. If they score, I would expect it would be on one-on-ones with Neuer after leaving our defense far back in the middle of the pitch.

I like Xabi’s idea though muller isn’t a winger nor do I think that’s the best role for him. I’m also nervous with experimenting now.

Pushing Gnabry to the left will kill him faster than a bullet to his head

Kimmich can start at RB as long as he doesn't leave the right side of the pitch to play on the left (like wtf was that?) like he did vs Lyon. IIRC it happened in the play which almost led to a Lyon goal, where Goretzka suddenly had to complete our back 4 and defend against Cornet
