So you think we have no chance either way. So who cares if Ulreich is playing? Its not going to make a difference.

Might be Bayern has better chances at first leg at Anfield without VVD on the pitch, than in Munich with full Liverpool squad (and another LFC defenders recovering from injuries).
BTW I expect Lewandowski taking 2-3 defenders on his back thus allowing teammates to score (or at least to shoot at goal).

Well I dont know about you guys but as a Liverpool fan iv started to get nervous already!

Our defence is going to be the biggest issue as we have injuries and suspensions to contend with. I can see Matip pairing up with Fabinho in the central defensive positions which means Lovren is unlikely to play as even if he recovers from his injury doubt his match fit.

Midfield is looking ok, hope Gini can stay fit and up front baring any injuries during training should be ok.

So our weakness is likely to be our defense, the irony considering how good we have been domestically.

Everything different that that is a suicide. TBH, I think that i want to see Boateng in this game - Hummels is going to make something stupid as always, it's not like Boateng is rock solid, but for this game he is the better option.
Kovac finally understand who should play on the wings and in the midfield (at least for now), but it doesn't matter who is going to be in the centre of the defense - everybody there is making stupid mistakes.

But, who you guys prefer - Hummes or Boateng for the first game ?

I put A. Vidal (vs. Goretzka) aside as his miserable penalty and then his red card against Madrit had stolen Bayern 2017 UCL trophy.
Bayern was stronger in both 2016/17 (but with Lewandowski's arm injured) and 2017/18 than in 2018/19 so FCB can win only if opponents are even weaker (i.e. Real).

Agree probably Boateng. At least he was once a great defender. Hummels has always been iffy.

Salah, Firmino, Mane resemble me Neymar, Cavani, Mbappe from 3:0 trashing in Paris (Sule-Martinez as CB), so I opt for Hummels-Boateng with benched Sule, as the latter is not agile enough to stop Liverpool paced trio.
BTW I never though Bayern had so short bench!

Gnabry still have a lot of time to become a good player - if I have to compare him in his current form with Costa (when he was playing for us in the Champions League), probably I'm still gonna take him instead of Douglas. Costa was good for 6 months for us and after that the defenders understand his only move, so basically for me - he was useless for the team in the big games (except for the Arsenal games, where he was murdering Bellerin).

Gnabry is playing very well recently, I think he is the better choice of the two.

The only thing Boateng has ahead of Hummels is the (by now) minimal difference in speed...
Neither his passing nor defending is up to date. At least you can say that Hummels still is a fantastic passer and also he feels more solid in defense.
Speaking about making something stupid: I can already feel Boateng causing a penalty because he was overrun by Salah or Mane...
Besides that, neither Süle or Boateng are natural left CBs. So Hummels all the way for me...Boateng is atrocious as LCB.

Didn’t think about the LCB/RCB side to be honest. Still, Boateng’s slide is just sad to me. Hummels I don’t care. He was maybe good under Klopp, I don’t remember. But those last years in Dortmund he wasn’t great. Maybe he can offer something but I am dubious.

When did I say that? Actually I've always said it is 50-50 for me if we have a full squad apart from Tolisso and other minor injuries.

Sad thing too is that IMO even Süle hasn't been looking that great lately to my eye, either...Maybe part of it is due to being paired up with two players who have been declining in a big way, maybe it is tactics (everyone DID seem to look better under Jupp) but in many matches to me he's looked worse than he did last season :/

Yeah, Süle isn't making the kind of mistakes Hummels and Boateng do, but he's positioned poorly just as often...

I’ll admit Süles positioning can be a bit off sometimes but Kimmichs been hanging him out to dry quite often this season. Süle will be about 5 meters off where he should be but then Kimmich is up playing winger and lets his man in behind so Süle get stuck trying to pick which man he marks too often. At first glance it makes Süle look indecisive but the actions that lead to that situation are just as much at fault
