I genuinely have no idea what you’re talking about. What went our way? Covid was the same for everyone.

Drawing Chelsea was a good draw when it was made but less so by the time the matches came around. It was still an opponent from a top league at an early stage.
Barca in the QF was probably the worst draw.
In the SF we were set to face Juve/Real/City. It was a TERRIBLE draw. In fact we were all saying how massively one sided the road to the final was, with almost all the good teams in the same half (except PSG, of course).
Somehow it was Lyon who made it there, which ok, can be considered lucky, but while they outplayed Juve (twice) and Man City we handled them easily while barely showing up.
We also faced a much better team in the final than recent winners have.

If anything, we were lucky in the BL, when football stopped the moment Lewandowski got injured.

We won the CL DESPITE COVID-19. We went into a break while on top form (even though Lewandowski was injured) and bookmaker favourites.

We played the CL against a more match-fit Chelsea, against a more match-fit Barcelona, and then against Lyon and PSG which were both more rested and more match-fit. All this while being denied the opportunity to face Barcelona and Lyon in our stronghold Allianz Arena. The football gods threw all kind of hurdles in our path to glory and we came out flying the flags high.

Sure, the stronghold in which RM now hung us by our balls three times in a row, and btw Liverpool even worse...

Yes, the Lewandowski injury...

Then the amount of rest... Don’t act like not playing for a few days loses you all match fitness - but playing every 4 days is a heroic tiring act costing us points against mighty relegation teams now... Always picking cherries...

Then we did not only get VERY lucky with our extremely thin squad being mostly injury-free, we also had the ONE injury that made it even possible in the first place, because it led to Pavard being sidelined...

@FCBM: to say they "outplayed" Shitty and at the same time claiming they didn’t give us trouble is... weird... They could‘ve been two up by the time we scored a rare goal of individual brilliance and quickly a second one... If you claim Bayern was so fantastic in the second half on Saturday, that‘s what Lyon did in those first like 30 minutes...

Also, it was lucky PSG couldn’t expose Fatty for like 60 minutes

Try sticking to this decade not going 5 coaches back.

Yes, we have won 7 home matches in a row.

Chelsea and Barcelona played as many matches as us, and they were more match fit closer to the day.

Lyon and PSG didn't play their remaining league matches, so were very rested, and then they played more matches than us before the CL restarted, so they were also more match fit.

Rather than calling it very lucky that we had few injuries keep in mind that that's the norm for other top clubs. The argument that we weren't as unlucky as precious years doesn't make it lucky for us. Which of our opponents had an injury crisis?

We worked well as a unit and 'fatty' was well protected. Which brings us back to the original point that we were unlucky that Boateng got injured in the CL final. And despite having to play 'fatty' (unlucky for us) we survived, as I said, against all odds and against all the hurdles we had to go through.

The mark of true champions. The legendary treble was complete.

Told you already... We had the best mix of rest and matchfitness... your list of both extremes still doesn’t negate that...

Curious: If we *hadn't* won last year, would you say that was because we were unlucky or because we just weren't very good? Would it have been luck if someone else had won it?

I'm just trying to recall the season 2010/2011 and our reactions and emotions here and the thing is, nothing comes out of my mind. :D We barely secured 3rd spot against Slomka's Hannover 96 and the season was really bad.

2011/2012 we lost all 3 competitions, Finale Dahoam, DFB-Pokal against BVB with a totally humiliating result and the title against BVB, second in the row. We were really angry, frustrated and disappointed, but one thing is for sure - we weren't negative and pessimistic, more like determined and optimistic that this all is going to be better next season.

Since then we have never lost the Bundesliga title, only missed 4 DFB Pokal(including this season) and only once knocked out from the CL before 1/4 final and once before 1/2 final.

Many Bayern fans really forgot how it is to finish the season without a single title or with just one title. Just because we got so used to it over the last 9 years to win almost everything, it doesn't mean it's gonna be like this forever in football.

Just enjoy football and have in mind that it's a rare case that we fans are nervous, worried or anxious ahead of the BL or the CL duel after so many years. These feelings should also be accepted.

Lazio have suddenly become a tough opponent and we all know why is that so. This is their chance, but in the 2nd leg I expect different scenario once Goretzka, Müller and Pavard are back. 8)

I simply can't and don't think that way before the start 1/8 finals as we are already K.O. from the CL.

The laws of probabilities dictate that the more players you have the more likely you will have injuries. Just because in previous seasons we were unlucky enough to have an abnormally high* amount of injuries that doesn't mean we were lucky last season. If a guy loses 50 cointosses in a row and one day he wins one out of two does not make him lucky that day!

Please explain how PSG were less match fit than us and more tired. They played far fewer matches than us through the season and had some 3 or 4 extra matches before the CL restarted (which weren't in a short time span either), enough to build up more match fitness than our 1 friendly in the space of a month.

Lol. If you lose 50 coin-tosses straight, the conclusion is that the coin loaded or something. Similarly, our poor injury history is more likely than not to have some explanation beyond mere chance.

Depends on the course of the season... I‘ve never made a secret of thinking Liverpool were lucky... For example... If we hadn’t won it, I would‘ve definitely acknowledged that the long break threw us of track (which was evident in like May it hadn‘t when we won like 7 games in a row...
And "not very good" is relative, I‘ve never argued we were worse like, let’s say top 15 or at most 20... What do you think makes me more angry, us being poor, cause we really are THAT poor or us underachieving? You have two guesses...

Yeah we weren’t exactly destroying PSG either, they could‘ve won just as easily... Don’t act like it was a one-sided final...
Other than that...
It’s pretty easy actually if you look at it unbiased: having a short 18 day vacation doesn’t make you lose your ENTIRE match fitness, while 3 or 4 matches do not get you back to it after not playing for almost six months... Actually, had they played one of the stronger teams - like us - earlier, they wouldn’t have made the final...

No enthusiasm for this at all. Hardly thought about it at all today and when I remembered it a few minutes ago it was with a sense of dread
