I think they are a far worse team now than in 2020. But at the same time with their current tactics it is less likely that we will thrash them like that.

And let's not forget we will be playing at Camp Nou which won't be an easy task

That Barcelona team in 2020 was at the pinnacle of their misery. They were dead man walking. That team did not have any structure, leadership, tactical set-up.

On the other hand the current Barcelona team maybe lacks the “magical” players like Messi or Suarez but at least they have a structure, at least some defensive stability and some motivated players like Pedri, Depay, Braithwart. They still have a very weak defense.

All in all I think we are a much better team overall but this Barcelona team is at least able to put up a fight, therefore it wont be an easy task. But its doable to win there.

Did they even have a big opponent yet? Nope, that wil be Sevilla and us, who will both show them their limits.

Will be interesting to see what will be the starting eleven for this game. Lucas and Pavard are back in defense. Tolisso and Sabitzer are certainly capable midfielders to challenge for a starting spot. In attack Gnabry and Musiala are having a good time with Sané having some bright performances at LW and Coman is always an option for both wings.

Only Lewandowski, Kimmich, Müller and Neuer are obvious starters for this game.

Tolisso will almost definitely be out injured.

The travelling will be ridiculous for this one, especially the German players who will be playing in Rejkjavik 6 days before this match, then travel back to Munich, then off to Leipzig, then back to Munich, and finally off to Barcelona.

Even if we do, it's really mentally and physically exhausting for the players, and the risk of injury may be increased.

I am talking in general here
we criticize them a lot ... we are astonished and get scrupulous about their wages... but they really do big scarifies to be a pro.
They barely see their families when most of them have young kids ... they have to eat and drink what is ordered by the nutritionist... and all...

there are too many games... someone has to speak up...
Reduce the fucking leagues to not more than 15 teams .... eliminate the useless cups such as the Carling Cup and the Coup de la Ligue...

None forces them to be a football pro.. Game wise, yes i can agree, sometimes its just to much. Nations league, away with the crap. Club WC, bring back that one game only format. WC and EC back to 32 and 16 teams. Fuck off with all relegation matches, you had 34 chances before to blow it, why get a 35th and 36st chance..

But for them flying around and being away from family making it sound right for them to make so much? I know people who put in 60 to 80 hour weeks.. And dont make nearly as much as they do. But its the game with all its profits.. But none of them is actually worth the ridiculous wages and or transfer sums. In relation..

Have they managed to get their game next weekend postponed? Thought they were meant to be playing Sevilla on Saturday (which I was looking forward to watching after our game)

LaLiga have released an official statement to hit out at the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF)'s president for turning down their request to postpone two Matchday 4 games in LaLiga Santander: Sevilla vs Barcelona and Villarreal vs Alaves.

Both games were initially scheduled to take place on Saturday, September 11, but LaLiga requested their postponement in their attempt to ensure Spanish teams with CONMEBOL players don't have to play straight away after the international break. [source]

Barcelona’s La Liga clash with Sevilla on September 11 could go ahead as planned after the RFEF reportedly turned down La Liga’s request for a postponement.

La Liga asked for the game, and Villarreal vs Alavés, to be rearranged due to the the fixtures clashing with World Cup qualifiers in South America. Sevilla had also asked for the game to be moved.

If it goes ahead the hosts are likely to be without Papu Gómez, Marcos Acuña and Gonzalo Montiel, while Barca will have to cope without Ronald Araujo who is with the Uruguay squad.

La Liga have issued a statement confirming they will challenge the RFEF’s decision, but it remains to be seen if they will win or if the game will indeed go ahead as originally intended.

The fixture is Barca’s first after the current international break. If it is postponed it means we won’t see the team in action again until Bayern Munich visit in the Champions League on September 14. [source]
